On 15th March 2023, the Government announced plans to increase access to funded childcare hours to include younger children. The phased introduction of this plan begins in April 2024 through to September 2025
Children who are 3 & 4 are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare a week for 38 weeks a year. The government has also introduced 30 hours funding to children who have turned 3 years old whose parents both work, or have a single parent that works, 16 hours or more.
Whilst this offer works well for most families, we have decided to also provide a stretched offer to parents, so they can access 25 hours across 46 weeks. This enables parents to have more choice in how their hours are used.
