Technology

The EYFS states children need to ‘find out about and identify the uses of everyday technology and use information and communication technology, and programmable toys to support their learning’.

Computers can offer a gateway into learning which supports and extends children previous experiences. The use of images, videos and music enables children to research independently from a young age.

At Artemis we have a touch screen computer at each of our sites. A touch screen is an advanced technology that engages children in our nurseries allowing them to imaginatively create as well as edit and alter. It is great for both individuals and whole class sessions, mirroring the early years foundation stage curriculum and covering creativity, numeracy, literacy, letter formation, music , art and much more.

We have found the benefits to be profound. Children collaborate more, share, swap ideas and help each other.

“My son has come on in leaps and bounds since Joining Artemis Nursery. He can count to ten, name all the colours, do animal noises and so much more. His confidence has grown and he is always telling me how much he loves nursery and all the girls that work there.”
