Food

Children are encouraged to learn about keeping themselves healthy with food and partake in cookery sessions where the food cooked will be used later in the day for afternoon tea. We try to avoid products containing nuts although traces of nuts may be found in some ingredients. We cannot take responsibility for this occurring and you should advise us if you are aware of a nut allergy within your family. All our foods are home made to avoid colours, preservatives, flavourings, e numbers etc. At breakfast we have cereal or toast and fruit, lunch time consist of a main course and a pudding. For afternoon snack we have water and a healthy snack of fruit, salad or vegetables or a home made snack such as cheese sticks. Afternoon tea consists of mainly finger food, with a variety of home made savoury foods. The menu changes every day and every week and is displayed on our notice board. We positively encourage children to try new foods but they are never forced to eat anything they do not choose to eat.
